It is a great gun, I will not qualify that with "at least mine is" or any other patronizing that may be deemed appropriate. It had 2 FTF in the first 100 rounds and no hiccups since. It has a fine trigger, not a 4 pounder but smooth and not too long. It is very accurate, which counts a lot to me, The sights are adjustable at the rear. it is easy to take down and clean, another big plus and it is fun to shot. I am not a one gun owner I have quite a few. The SR-9 is a good gun. Bashing it seems to be something alot of people like to do. I don't get it.... and if they have actually fired one and reloaded the mag and fired some more I put very little faith in their review. I would not give a review of a Taurus 24/7 that i shot 3 times or just dry fired. I would not offer more of a review on a Kimber then man are they sweet looking, I will not review a gun based on what I have heard from others.
I think the SR-9 is a fine gun. Did it have problems in the past......I guess it must have, do I care, nope they fixed them. Do they have similarities to other guns, who cares. Would I recomend it yes I would.is the trigger an issue, no it is not.you know when it will fire and it is consistant and short.
My first post on this site. I didn't realize I had so much to say.

If you like it, then that is excellent. Ruger has a market for the SR-9 for a reason. I just had a chance to fire it and really didn't enjoy it and I really didn't like the heavy trigger at all (I believe it is 7 pounds). The gun we shot, rented at Bill's Robbinsdale, suffered a few failure to feeds when my buddy shot it [he was considering buying it]. He had no such problem with the Glock 17 (5.5 pound trigger). Anyway, a lot of people DO like it. I don't "knock" the gun per se, but I don't particularly like it (just as many don't like the Glock 17 that I shoot when I shoot 9mm ... well, I shoot a Taurus PT92 occasionally) and I stated precisely reasons why. I just feel that for the money, you can do better if some of what I mentioned is a deficit to the reader and potential buyer.
There are many shooters with just as many preferences and requirements for the guns they shoot and that is why there is a market for so many different models. I guess what I am trying to say, that I, and others here, merely stated a preference, so I don't think you should feel compelled to defend your purchase [if you weren't doing that, my apologies]. I also have to say that the guy next to us was a US Marine and he had the .45ACP version of the SR-9 and absolutely loved it [and he was a great shot], so there you have it.
You could get a new lease on life -- if only you didn't need the first and last month in advance.
