I haven't fired any carry ammo as of yet, wanted to get a little cozier with the gun before i started carrying and feeding it the expensive stuff! Once i get it back i'll try to run 1K rounds or so before i trust it again.

You probably plan to do this, but do call Smith, and I suspect with a new gun they will send you a prepaid shipping label. Failing that the store where you bought it should be willing to take care of sending it back for you. You may have to pay postage, but at least you are not having to go out to UPS/Fed EX shipping depot and some FFL will use the US Mail, which is sometimes less expensive.

Sorry you are having the issue, I own several M&P, and they have been Glock like in their reliability. I should add I don't use WWB, but friends do in their M&Ps and have not had issues. Good luck, they are fine guns.

You always get the same frame as the serial # is registered.

I think it would be more accurate to say it will always have the same serial number. However, since they make them, they may just give you a new frame rather than mess with repairing the one that is having issues.

S&W sometimes replaces a firearm with a frame with a new serial number. They did that on my AR lower.

They replaced a 642 for me a few years back after i used chlorinated brake cleaner accidentally on it, ruined the finish and melted the grips to the frame, my fault and they still made it right. Great CS
