Obviously, none of you ever graced the confines of Stand-Up Frank's before it closed. Yes, a long habit of meth whill make you skinny, but it's also something that is abused by the large 1% biker types, who are belligerent to begin with, and definitely not skinny or small. Same for the Aryan Brotherhood. They don't recruit little ******* into their organization ever, and they like meth too...

YES! The NAMBU pistol is a classic. A little pressure on the side of the gun and BAM! it goes off. No need to even touch the trigger! The "Japanese guns of WWII" special is one of my favorites on The History Channel. They truly had some weird designs.

Agreed. I have a pretty nice collection of Imperial Japanese firearms, and the "weird" factor is one of the attractions for me. I also like the way they maniacally mark virtually every part, and use all sorts of interesting symbols for arsenal marks, etc. Pre/early war vs. late war makes for interesting comparisons, too. It's a great genre for collecting, that's for sure!

Someday I'll post the story one of those "gun shop guys" tried to tell me about the monopod on Type 99 rifles and what it was "really" used for.

Remember to oil those cartridges before they go in the hopper!!! :D I also love the fact that the standard issue Ariska rifle was about 5'5" with bayonet attached when the typical height of the Imperial Japanese soldier was about 5'3". That had to suck.

Back to the original topic, I'm going to echo the sentiment of the "Saturday Night Special" automatic in .25ACP yet again. One of those little guns made by a company like Lorcin or Raven Arms is neither reliable nor effective. However, we did watch a training video where a LEO pulled over a suspect and got shot with a cheapie .25 auto. The first shot hit his center mass and was stopped by his ballistic vest. The second entered his arm, changed trajectory, and ended up inside his chest cavity. He died at the hospital shortly thereafter. He had returned fire, hitting the fat slob of a perp a few times with a .357 magnum. The perp lived. No one is going to say that the .357 magnum isn't a vastly superior round to the .25ACP in terms of stopping power of course, but the moral of the story is this: any gun has the power to take a life and therefore should be treated with utmost respect and discipline.
