I want a new pistol...

Postby Pat on Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:36 pm

Something on the smaller side, that I could easily drop into a coat pocket. Caliber has to be .45 ACP (If you even considered a smaller caliber, say three Paters, 5 Aves and 15 Glorias...)

Am sorta/kinda leaning towards one of the compact Sig 220's, but they look kinda bulky. Beretta is importing a mini Cougar in .45 ACP from Italy, but it isn't even listed in their US catalog. How's that for corporate commitment?

There's nothing wrong with any of the Kimber Ultra models, or the STI Escort for that matter, but I don't like the idea of C&L carry in the pocket.

So whatcha all think?

I almost forgot: The pistol should have a safety, so Glocks aren't in the running. ;)

Beretta PX4 Storm compact would be a good option... I was going to say MP45 compact but most don't come with a "Safety" but some DO so give them a look also.

What about one of the little Para LDAs?

1911, Double action so not C&L, might be abit bulky though.

A .45 ACP pocket pistol is a tough one.

Hey, the caliber of a defensive handgun should be digits that add up to at least 15.

By that logic, my .177 pellet pistol should be just the thing!!!

As to the OP, I got a Taurus 745 milpro that might fit in a pocket. the 145 is a double-stack, but it's just a little bit wider in the grip. I wouldn't want to shoot 230s in a smaller platform.
I got nothin'

For a plastic gun I really like mine. :D

It is a great "mud gun"

There is only one safety on any gun.

The operators brain (or lack thereof). :D
