You might need to be more specific.

Imagine going on a local forum asking for people’s experience with something and being told to basically f*** off and google it..... what a great ambassador.... smh

I don’t have any experience with the r8 but I do have a pc 929. If you absolutely need/want a tactical high capacity revolver the r8 seems to fit the bill. Don’t expect a great trigger out of the box even with the performance center model. Trigger will need some work.. but it should be a good revolver.

What is his question?

I can think of a few.

1) Have you heard of the R8?
2) What is the R8?
3) What is folks opinion of the R8?
4) How does the R8 function?

Seems like we've gotten a lot of new members lately who ask a question and are never heard from again.

I agree. Still not sure what the intention would be? Test the reaction time of response to see how active the site is? Make a list for the Blue Helmet Collection team?

Headscratcher.

Seemed like a simple “yes” or “no” question to me... :?

Then I will answer the original question.

No.

Sorry folks, I've been busy. Thank you for all your responses. I've been a Semi-auto guy my whole life, started with the Beretta 92 FS after the Navy, landed on the S&W M&P as my consistent carry firearm. Not sure why, always wanted a revolver. Maybe it's because of Clint Eastwood movies, I dunno. The grip will take some getting used to. But I was looking at the S&W R8 because I like the capacity, the look of the gun, generally. Apparently it was made to be a SWAT revolver, so I presume it is made well and sturdy.

My questions are:
Any known issues with firing pin breaking (assuming I don't dry fire the gun).
Does anyone have any experience with the gun and have had any issues?
Any parts break easily?
Is maintenance straight forward?
Any recommendations on oil?
Any trigger issues?

I suppose YouTube is a good place to review any gun.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

First gun for my wife - ideas?

My wife is a first time shooter, and is "not really a gun person". I don't want to scare her or force her to go shooting.

Any suggestions on:
How do I ease her into the idea of shooting?

What gun should I start her with, and caliber?

Thanks!
