Atomic Tactical charges $15 for transfer plus $5 each additional. They will accept from non- FFL.

If you buy from an individual that same money can go towards transfer fee so it may be a wash depending on the value of the gun. I never worry about fees on the seller's end as that is their concern. It is cheaper to ship through an FFL as they can use the postal system, rather than the thieving UPS.

Technically you are supposed to still pay the tax... Just saying

All Working Class taxpayers pay far more than we should.

In the past 5 years I have bought and sold several firearms out of state.I use FedEx to ship because they are the cheapiest around for long guns, their policy for shotguns and rifles lets you ship them ground. But be awere that not all their desk people know the correct policy, only handguns need next day air.

Now shipping any handgun is very expensive, last one I sent was a Taurus mdl 85 so it was a small box but cost me over $50. So going through a FFL is cheaper for them, plus they take on the resposibility if it is stolen while shipping and and used in a crime.

I am not sure about what the law says about you buying in person from out of state, but I do know if your buying online or from family they must ship to your FFL.

Again I appreciate all the info form this forum! If anyone is interested in my saga....

I ended up trying this gun out at Bills again and found out I really didn't shoot this as well as an Xdm, so instead of going through the hassel of shipping this out (and trying to replace the mags with high cap mags since this gun was originally purchased in NY..), I decided to try to find an XDm locally. Luckily I was able to find one at Capra's in Blaine.

This is my first handgun, but I can see how they accumulate. I'm already trying to figure out how to sneak another purchase in without my wife finding out :D
