PARA 1911

Postby JJ on Thu Sep 17, 2009 12:51 pm

So i was looking through one of my gun mags and saw that Paraordinance is offering a 1911 for $599. I want a 1911, really want a custom but I'm broke. I have too many rifle's in project status, but I somehow can manage $600, lol. Anyone seen one? I won't even touch a Taurus 1911, too many problems with other Taurus guns to mention.

Dooood you're a smiff, get a frame blank and go from there. Otherwise, if you're just going to deck it out, get an old Norinco or a Springfield G.I. . No need to drop a ton of $$$ if you're just going to chop it up.

They have all the right features and it's made in the U.S.A.

What else could you want?

Maybe some Strad grips, but that's about all I can think of.

Problem with building a 1911 custom is about 1g in tooling, and a mill. I just want a knockaround/carry gun.

Save yourself $150, and go with the Springer I had one. I had no issues with it.

To put together a good 1911 all you need is a stone, a smooth file and Kuhnhausens book.

The para is good, but it does have competition, The auto ordinance guns are good too for the money

Para makes a great gun, there are others for similiar money so shopping around might be a good idea. STI, Springfield and others all make a gun in that price range. I'd have no trouble buying another Para, I've got the 1640.

Alright, to clarify, to do what I want in a custom is gonna require more than stones and a file. Thats another story   dont ask, lol

See this is an ideal world, the mnGLOCKer was the first to chime in the 1911 advice, no more this glock v 1911 bashing,
Springfield does make hellova 1911 for the money, I spotted a RRA 1911 @ lakeville gander for 498 and they don't seem toobad
