My first Colt

Postby Belgiboy on Fri Dec 04, 2009 10:35 am

I have been following the sales of double action Colt revolvers on the popular internet auction sites for quite a bit of time now. My dreamgun is, and will always be, a 4" blued Colt Python but a good quality used one is still beyond what I want to spend on a second hand gun. Recently I noticed that the price of the Troopers started to shoot up. What you could buy for $300-400 a couple of months ago will now sell for $600-700. So I needed to get into the action and get one before it is too late.

This (hopefully) pristine old school six shooter should arrive in a couple of days. I'm using Ammocraft as my FFL-holder to do the transfer. I figure that I can shoot and carry this one and it will at least hold its value for a long time. I will need a holster :D
I have a Colt Python and you don't so what do I care...

thats one ugly ass old pice of junk. Look at it its all steel and wood. WOOD I say, who in the name of god makes a gun out of wood and that steel is just going to rust all over the place. No mag hole, what the....no night sights, no high tech polymer and more especially no trigger safety and it only has 6 rounds and no automaic ejection. This gun is an accident waiting to happen and that seller really saw you coming a mile off and proceeded to not use lube when you showed an honest interestin what you thought was a good gun. I strongly suggest that you give it to me, i can have the gun and i use the term loosely, disposed of in a hygenic and safe manner away from small childen and animals . I do feel badly for you though, I too have been effed in the a by some righteous better than thou gun trader on th internet, so just to show you how much I care about helping a fellow who has been through the pain I have, I 'll do it all for free. Us ex-europats need to stick together in times of joy and also in times of pain. I feel your pain man, just gimme the gun and you wont ever have to worry about it again.
yours sincerely,

LOL. Didn't you guys watch CHIPS in Ireland, Paddy. If I remember correctly, I'll be totin' Ponchorello's piece pretty soon (OK that sounded too European, even for my taste). So thank you but no thank you. I'll go as far as to let you hold it and maybe shoot some cheese bullets...

Did you know that neither Ponch or Jon ever once drew their gun on the show?

I did not know that. But for some reason I seem to remember that they did carry Colt Troopers. Luckily I found this pic that seems to support that idea.

And yes, I still load the Cheddar wadcutters on an as needed basis.

FWIW, Ponch was a bad ass, Jon was a push over.

You may have inspired me to make my next purchase a revolver. I love it.

Nice Guy Belgi.

Now I'm wondering if I still need to include the 44 cal Nerfblaster in my polls or did you trade it in on this one? :D Also, now that you're a Colt guy, I just noticed another for sale on the other board .... perhaps you need to add to your collection.
