Always makes for a fun day at the range...

I'll admit it, i'm nosy. When I'm at the range, I always want to know what other folks are shooting. Breaking in the new SR9c today, a husband and wife (I assume so by the way they bickered) were blasting away next to me. I saw their .410 judge sitting there and asked how she liked it. "You wanna try it?" she asked. Um, yes please. She loaded it up with .410 game shot and I proceeded to liberally spray my target with a world of hurt. Muzzle flash was rediculous, but felt great to shoot. Her husband came over and wanted another opinion on his Para 3.5" 1911 and the sights, so I ran a clip through that. After noticing his bandaged hand and lack of dovetail, I held that puppy tight. Another great shooter. It was like old home week at the range.
Gotta love gun people...
What have other folks had a chance to test run lately and what are you liking?

My brother brought his son up to go shoot at Bill's. There was a guy shooting next to us who had a license to manufacture custom stuff for SWAT teams & such. He was testing out a very nice AR with the red-dot & the whole shootin' match (pun intended).

Long story short, my nephew got to shoot a S-W-E-E-T fully automatic rig and basically saw a target in 1/2. He smiled the rest of the night. That guy was super nice to let us shoot his rig and my nephew will always remember that (and will never let his other brothers forget it).

Was able to get a kid some AK time when i went to Bill's north last fall. Went with an old GF, and we ran into a guy she knew from high school with his thirteen year old. I was trying out my WASR folder, and noticed the boy was watching closely. I finished, put in a fresh mag, racked it and set the safety, set it down, and said "Ok for him to try it?" to Dad. Of course Dad said yes, and I gave the boy a quick lesson on how to hold it properly and take the safety off, and he was off to the races.

Nice to see the grin on his face afterwards, for about five bucks worth of Wolf ammo. What goes around, comes around. I'm sure someone will offer me something to shoot that will make my day sometime.
