I knew there must be a way to do it because there were heavy metal bands before 1984.

But there wasn't Windows before then. (Windows 1.01 was released in November 1985)

I don't know anything about those. Everyone else here knows way more about this stuff than I do. I like my XD but I haven't really used much else.

For everyone else he has shot different guns before but doesn't own any. He said he wanted a 1911 and I suggested a 9mm XD instead because it would be cheaper to shoot and foolproof to take care of.

Duluth. I also told him to come here to see if anyone knew of carry permit instructors in that area.

I copy and paste off google. :D

I am from the cities originally so i make trips down there relatively frequently. Currently I'm a student at UMD but when time allows I do visit family and friends in Minneapolis and my home town of Rosemount MN. And what does FFL mean?

To expand on that firearms can only be shipped between FFL holders. So if you buy one online you need to have it shipped to someone with an FFL and generally they charge you some fee to do the paperwork and transfer the gun to you.

So, call me stupid, but there are a few forms to fill out, but they require a fingerprint and photo and such and whatnot. I assume I can't do this entirely online, is there a place I can go to fill out all the necessary forms and fees? Do I go to the local Sheriff's office? Or am I way off base. Maybe I'm just not reading this correctly (I'm actually in class right now, so I haven't had a chance to be able to read this completely but I think the gist of it is that I can't do it solely online).

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I feel this is important for me to obtain before beginning to purchase a firearm. Thanks and sorry in advance for my stupid questions

FFL is for buisness only.

You will need a Permit to Purchase, available from your local PD or Sheriff's dept.
