New handgun...

 I've been watching the youtube vids, and reading all the reviews online about this gun. I got some extra cash for my birthday form a couple of people. And I figured for only $119.99 I really couldn't say no to adding another 9mm to the family.

This isn't my first experience with Hi Point. My first gun from them was a 9mm carbine, and then last year I bought a .45ACP handgun from them. I sold both of guns, but during the ownership of both of them I had no problems, or complaints.

Congrats on the purchase. To be totally honest the carbine looks like it would be a fun range toy if there were a decent mag available for it.

I don't want a Hi-Point, but I do want a Hi-point t-shirt. Group buy anyone?

Well I was able to get out and shoot it. Put 110 rounds through it. (50 rounds of blazer, 50 rounds of ultramax re-manufactured, and 10 rounds of hornady JHP). Only had one FTF with the blazer on the first magazine. It ate everything else after that. It works.

I got to handle a used High Point pistol in .40S&W at Keepers last year. It was... interesting. I'm glad to hear you've had good experiences though. The machining on the inside of the slide looked absolutely horrific, but if it works it works.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19694&p=219125&hilit=jimenez#p219125

makes a hi-point look like a glock :P

presents a problem to me anyways - i've shot plenty of hi-points, but don't have one in my colelction of garbage guns. mind if i asked were you picked it up? local?

Yeah I bought it at L&M Supply in Grand Rapids MN. Shawn who works there sells alot of them, and has been really impressed by the number of people who come back and don't complain about it. They just buy more ammo for it...

They are known as the Cadillac of the "Pot Metal" guns ! Out of the cheapies they are the only ones with good report.
The little Cobra FS and CA series have a pretty good track record for what they are as well.
As far as something for knocking around at the range, the High Points are okay.
Many others like Jennings, Bryco, Jiminez, you don't know if they will go "Boom" when you pull the trigger ?
People who are against guns will never have true freedom !

I have a feeling mine will be a safe queen. I haven't put down my new Glock 19 Gen3 since I got it last week. LOL
