How do you carry spare mags

Postby Flip on Sun Mar 02, 2008 6:46 pm

I figured this was the best place to post this (vs. the accessories board). If not, feel free to move it.

I'm wondering, how people like to carry their spare mags when they C&C? I'm mainly wondering if you're carrying a compact ... say something like a M&P Compact, XD 4", or something similar, so that you have fairly high cap mags (say about 12 rounds).

Do you get mag holsters OWB? If so, does this show if you want to really conceal everything?

Do you keep them in a pocket? If so, do they print?

Just wondering how you guys do it?

Thanks in advance

Spare mag OWB on weak side, 1911 and Gerber multi-pliers OWB on strong side.

No problem concealing either with Hawaiian shirt in summer or flannel shirt in winter.

I generally try to carry a couple of 30 rounders with me on top of the 15 rounder I have in the pistol. Add all this to the 6 d-cell Mag-light I have strapped to my back.

 :o

Ok, I carry one mag and an Inova T3 LED flashlight on the support side in individual OWB holders. I carry my Beretta 92fs OWB also in an extreme cant paddle. All of these come from RM Holster works. http://www.rmholsters.com

OK, I'll be the Richard Melon

C & C ????????

If your layered because of winter, you could walk around with a couple of 200 round belts of linked 7.62 NATO and not even look like the Michelin Man, let alone at the crap you can stuff in your pockets.

Summer is a very different box of puppies.

A friend of mine told me I could carry my 1911 single stacks in a folding knife sheath. You can get them at Northern Tool for $9.00 with a nice sturdy metal clip that you can remove without taking off your belt. I carry two in one sheath. Works great!

I carry two extra 1911 mags comfortably in one of these well made thingies from Kirkpatrick Leather.

Flip, do you have your carry permit? Are you in MN?

I'll buy you a box of your favourite flavoured ammo if you can find the word CONCEAL in the following link.

Whats wrong with calling it concealed carry? Do none of you conceal your guns ever?
Are you gonna tear into me when I say clip?

I carry my clip in my front left pocket.

Knowing the crowd that I run with - do you think that we haven't done that?

I use a paddle to carry an additional mag - owb

I am a BIG proponent of carrying at least one additional mag.
