CZ question

Postby msnden on Fri Feb 03, 2012 10:09 pm

This might seem like a stupid question, but I am very new to the semi-Auto. so bare with me. I have been doing some reading about the CZ & have come to believe I will get one. question?? which one?? it will be used on the night stand for HP, it may be carried some, & I like to go to the range. I want a 9mm. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance. msn

CZ75B. Reasonable price great shooter. Heavy if you where thinking carry but great for night stand and range.

Yes, the CZ 75B would be a good start.

CZ 75B in Stainless. it's ambidextrious, and stainless. comes with two 16 rd magazines and night sights on most. Bill's has one for $699 if ya beat Lunchbox to it. it's heavy for carry, but damn it, i carry a gov't size 1911. big guns are GREAT to carry, if you don't mind wearing out your belt and not really hiding it

Little hard to carry but I wouldn't want to get into a gunfight against it!

I vote for the one of the 75 series.

Ooops should have asked if you where into decockers instead of safeties. Then yes the BD is a good one.

Rent a few different ones before you purchase. I was completely sold on CZ's after doing a great deal of research and handling in stores, I ended up purchasing a -52 and a -75. Neither fit me as well in the end, I wish I would have tried a few at the range vs. other models. I slightly regret selling my -52, since it was a lot of fun, but the ammo isn't something you can head down to Walmart to purchase.

That being said it seems you're fairly set. I'd personally give the SP-01, P-01, and/or a Cold War Commemorative edition (if you can find one) a try. Happy shooting! :)

Okay, what was the original caliber for the CZ-52?? That gun was the basis for the Bren Ten, so I'm curious how it started out...

the CZ-52 was originally in 7.62x25mm Tokarev.
i was always under the impression that the CZ 75 was the basis for the Bren Ten....?

With all the talk about the CZ 52 I asked my brother about them, (he didn't know why I would want one) but now I am the proud owner of 2 he gave me, he didn't have any ammo, but I will be down to the gun shop and get them fitted. I will keep you posted. msn
