Springfield XD-S

What's the big hold up? It was supposed to be shipping by the end of March. Springfield has not shipped any. Design flaw discovery??? I wonder what could be going on. They were touting it pretty heavily at the SHOT show.

Dunno, I gave up and bought a Shield. No longer interested in getting one of the first releases so that should save me some money anyway. I really wanted one, and probably will get one someday.

Has to be, I can't imagine what else this extended delay could be...especially when you consider the initial marketing push that has all but disappeared. I have to say that I much prefer this over a company pushing a product out the door and then issuing recalls

Springfield XD-S

I'm hoping to see it soon. Some on xdtalk have heard from Springfield's CS that its gonna be shipping in a week or two. BUT that's what they've been saying since March. The SA reps at Bill's shooter show said that the 9mm and .40 would follow early summer. I wonder where that stands now that the .45 isn't even out, and it's already early summer. I'm excited to see 'em though whenever they do come out.

I picked up a Shield, trading it out for the XDs (if I like it better) is not out of question. I have a feeling it's going to be a much longer wait than people think. If it wasn't, you'd think there'd be a bit more media out there right now.

Just got word today that the first batches are shipping to distributors now - so any day we'll start hearing reports.

Hmmm, what do you suppose the gap will be before they release the 9 and 40?

the trigger has been improved over the other XD's, much shorter more audible reset. The bore axis seems to be a bit lower as well, should be a good one.

Springfield XD-S

I had the chance to shoot one back in January. I liked it a lot. It's small and thin but accurate and easy to shoot. Recoil was manageable too.
