Wow!! An ACTUAL sighting of a PMR-30!! These things have been listed by CDNN forever, but as is the case with just about any other dealer, they're out of stock/can't get any. This is the first time I've heard of one being available. While it's a plastic fantastic, it's .22 Mag rimfire, and it holds 30 rounds, so it's no joke. Light, low recoil, super hicap cheap gun. And to do the unthinkable, compare it with the $1000 FN 5.7 x 28. Apart from the AP ammo which is hard to get, not a lot of difference between normal the .22 WMR and 5.7 x 28 except an obscene price differential, and availability differential, and the PMR holds 50% more ammo than the FN. Even I have thought about getting one..... :( :o  :?

Dumb question...but what's the purpose of that gun?

It's not for self defense...it's too big to carry in a practical way.

Is it just a plinker?

Is it for useful target practice? I think I'd be better off w/ a .22 designed specifically for accuracy in target practice.

I'm sure it's carryable..

As far as a reason? It's a less expensive alternative to FN five-seven, with comparable ballistics and way less expensive to shoot!

There are 5.7x28 loads pushing over 2000 fps out of a pistol with a 40gr bullet. Quite a bit more than any 22WMR out there. And the 5.7 is much more reliable than any rimfire.

For those who have wheel guns or rifles in WMR, the PMR-30 is a perfect addition. Hell I'd want one even if I didn't have other 22 mags. Nice to see they are starting to become more available.

Gun is 1/3 the price...ammo is 1/3 (if not less) the price....max loads on CCI .22mags is a 30gr pill at 2200fps...

Not saying the 5.7 isn't a fine piece of engineering, but for the majority of us who can't afford a 5.7, let alone feeding one, the .22mag is an extremely viable alternative.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

lol, you have no idea what some of these forum members carry! I lot of guys I know, carry full size 1911s. I carry an SR9C, sometimes I wish I would have bough the full size sr9 which is abouth the same size as the pmr-30

I love .22 WMR: cheap, fun, easy, and louder than .22 LR.

I love my PMR-30. I ordered a Burris Fastfire II for it, should be in tomorrow! Great little shooter.

if you face the fact that most target shooting is turning money into noise, the pmr30 excels at it, it's cheap, has huge magazines, and the ammo doesn't cost nearly as much as 357 or 44 mag.

and the faces of the folks around you when you light off 30 fireballs in a row without reloading is PRICELESS!

(yeah i paid too much for mine, but the biggest cost of any firearm is ammo. ... heck i'd buy another if i could find one.)
