Rock Island Customer Service

Wow. I sent my RIA CS (Officers) back to Armscor due to its POI being constantly high and to the right, no matter what sight adjustment occurred. I've had this pistol for some time now, and it was certainly well used. I only sent it back after calling them and them asking me to send it in.

What came in the big brown truck today? My Rock Island - a brand new one. Not only a brand new pistol, but they also threw in two ACT mags. I can't wait to shoot it.

I'm overwhelmed by their great CS. Truly a great company to deal with.

I have one of their 9mm Tactical models, and it shoots nearly as well as my Kimber 9mm. I'm a believer.
When I see five weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.

Don't you have to go through an FFL since it is a new gun? I didn't think they could directly send a new pistol to your door?

I always heard great things about RIA's customer service. I just never needed to use it, also a plus. Should have never sold it.

It is not any different than if they repaired it and sent it back, legally.

Plus wouldn't one assume that a Firearms manufacturer would have an FFL?

if it's the same model - yes. When I had my CZ repaired and they offered to replace it with the next model up, I happily ponied up the FFL fee

I thought that with a new gun and new serial number would require another transfer. I had a situation where a gun I bought from CDNN had to be replaced, and the new one had to be shipped back to my FFL instead of to me.

Was it replaced by CDNN or the manufacturer? That may be the difference.

18 USC 922(a)(2)(A) says it's not unlawful for an FFL (e.g., the manufacturer) to ship a repaired or replacement firearm of the same kind and type to the owner. Because some state's laws may require an FFL be involved notwithstanding federal law, some manufacturers demand use of an FFL even in Minnesota even though our state law does not require an intermediary local FFL.

Replaced by CDNN, had to do another transfer for the new one.
