What is your choice for nightstand/bedside handgun?

Postby BamBam on Wed Aug 08, 2007 12:35 pm

Im thinking maybe a large revolver, like a .357 mag with short 2-3 inch barrel, D/A and no safety. What do you cats keep bedside? thanx.

My usual carry gun (a commander sized 1911) is on the bedside table, next to it is a Mossberg 500 12 Ga.

We're kinda thinking along the same lines, except, if it was strictly for home and not also for carry, I'd have gotten a 4- or 5-inch barrel — or more likely, a shotgun.

One of two... My Smith 40VE with a light on it or my MP 40c with a surefire G2.

Oh.. I don't have anything. I'd just call 911 and wait for them to save me.

For handgun, HK USP 9mm. If I can make it to the closet, the AR is the prefered choice.

Quite the assortment :D , of those that have the Revolvers, seems you prefer at least a 6 inch barrel? what about an 8 inch?

.38 snubby special with crimson trace laser--had to bring it out only once (false alarm, as it turned out) and I LOVED shining that laser dot around the entire house from behind my bedroom door, so that if someone had actually been in the house, wherever they might have been, they would have seen the dot playing around the walls. It sends a powerful message, I think. After that one experience I would never be without a laser again for home defense work at night!
