Yeah, you just can't have a device intended to be a stock.

Lots of foam covers out there, I just haven't dealt with it yet.

Ok, at long freaking last... When ruErikenuf produces my gas tube and I pin the FSB on - it'll be DONE!

Red x 7.5" 300blk barrel (1-10 twist, so no heavy subs) and FF tube, PSA pistol buffer tube and guts, PSA LPK, SA&A Reaper lower, MOE+ pistol grip and trigger guard, DPMS upper, and unknown FSB (thanks to the huge generosity of Hoel6466). Currently sporting a PSA BCG as well (will get either a spikes or Rguns BCG whenever those show up), and of course it's got the prototype STD muzzle device on it (it'll probably get a pre-production version shortly).

*yes, this violates my 300blk color scheme of foliage green mags, but damn is it SEXY. :goofydance:

Is that an A1 upper? it looks like it. if it is, you should make some triangle hand guards out of aluminum......that would be cool

No, I hate the look of the triangle guards and I love the look of the shorty FF tube with the FSB.

The redx barrel I got had the goofiest counter bore in the muzzle. I can only imagine that's done to clean up burrs after turning the OD like bar stock (.004 out of concentricity). The counter bore on the other hand, was perfectly concentric.

So I chucked it up in the 4 jaw and dialed in on the bore, then cut a nice 11 degree crown on it.

Clean your workbench AND your lathe.

I even bought a good shop vac for slurping chips and I don't use it enough. Cleaning up has never been my strong suit.

When I'm out there, I'm usually on a mission to make something or do something. When I'm done, I'm either off to do something else, or I'm tired and not about to clean up my mess. It's a vicious cycle. I never did get to the top of my reloading bench.

Got to shoot it in 300blk tonight and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's slightly under gassed, but that's easily fixed.

Video was shot by kiddo, so it's rotated wrong (he didn't hold my phone level enough), but this is naked muzzle. With the STD, it looks very similar to the .223 w/STD, except there were no flare ups.

If you want to blow fire all over the range, the STD is NOT for you (simply remove it = mission accomplished).

If you want to be able to see in the dark after shooting your gun (like if retaining your night vision might save your life) - then you'd really like the STD. ;)

With regards to this being a range toy, etc. - How many handguns do you have which shoot a 155gr bullet at 1790 fps out of a 7.5" barrel?

5 shot average, no less.

Drilled the gas port out from .093 to .099, and changed the BCG to my daniel defense M16 one and she runs like a sewing machine.

I'm not sure if it's the rifle (blue) extractor plug causing the cases to hang in the chamber or the extra weight (rsilvers says 300blk was meant to be ran with a H2 buffer and M16 carrier with carbine spring only - no rifle), but whatever it was it worked. My carbine runs great with the weaker extractor spring and lighter carrier, so I just know now to switch them until my new ones show up.

Took the barrel out and knocked 5.4 ounces (that's what the displacement calculates out to) of metal off it to bring it down to .750" from just beyond the chamber to the small step I left to anchor the FSB, and man does it make a difference in how this gun feels!
