This is what I prefer for my mag bases on my sub-compact Glocks. If you're going to add extensions like the ones pictured above, why not just buy the 19?

I asked that earlier. Wondering the same.

Hi. I'm a poser.

PHATSPEED7x wrote:I owned a Glock 19 Gen3. Good shooting gun. But I didn't like the magazine release was only for right handed shooters, and the one on my 19 was a bitch to use left handed. The Gen4 with the reversible oversized magazine button are nice. Another reason I went with the 26 is the 3.5" barrel vs the 4" barrel on the 19. Just works for me. I shoot this 26 better than I ever shot my 19. And the gun just feels awesome with the +2 base plate. 12+1 capacity is just about right for carry. My XD9 subcompact that my dad now carries is 13+1 with the flush fitting magazine.

I'm a lefty. Never had issue with the mag release on my 27 and I don't expect it on the 19. I guess because I didn't look up options on the internet when I got the 27 I just dealt with it :)

For me it was the grip and lighter weight of the Gen4 26, the +2 is just to have the rest (and a couple rounds). I tried the Pearce PG-26 just to get the pinky rest but I figured for that size just get the +2. But I did like the rest quoted above. I'll give it a try.

Also just for the geeks:

GLOCK 19

Length 7.36 in.
Height 4.99 in.
Weight Loaded 30.18 oz

GLOCK 26

Length 6.41 in. (-.94in)
Height 4.17 in. (4.99 with Pearce extension)
Weight Loaded 26.12 oz (26.25 with +2 and extension) (3.93 oz lighter w/extension and +2)

So height is the same but length and weight are less.

Pearce PG-26 (on Gen 3) Might as well get the +2, same height overall.

Nice gun, that's what I carry too. Flush mags though. I find I can get a great grip without my pinky and just wrap it under the mag. Works for me! 400 rounds through her so far and not a single hiccup.

Any plans for night sights or are you keeping the stock?

Would love to put a set of XS night sights on it when I have the funds.

I use the flush mags on mine and have the stock Glock Night Sites on all of my glocks-- for only $50 more they were a no-brainer for me over ordering them with the plastic sights- and i have little trouble getting back on target with them-- i can see how the Big Dot sights would be even better though.
Glocks-- 17,19,26 in 9mm and the 21 and 36 in .45auto-- S&W M&P Shield 9mm
Ruger LCP and LCR
Bolt and lever guns for deer
Buckmark and M@P .22 pistols for summer varmint carry
Mini-14 and Rem. 870 for all types of vermin.

Glock G26 Gen4

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Tue Aug 02, 2016 10:23 am

Instead of starting a new thread I'll just dig up my old one...

I sold my Gen4 17 last month to help out with some car repairs I needed to get done (car ended up needing more work anyway and didn't make it to the show).

We'll Sunday I sold on of my spare snowmobiles for a couple hundred bucks. Went to the local pawn shop and they had a one owner (but never fired) Gen4 26 in the case. Scored it for $525.

I have had mine for five years, next month. For me, I just add a GAP baseplate to the 10-round magazine, and carry a G19 magazine as a backup. I have never had any issues with mine.

Glock G26 Gen4

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Tue Nov 08, 2016 11:33 am

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the finish on newer Glocks to be really weak? My 26 is showing more holster wear than other Glocks I've owned.

Raised the bar again. The new Gen5 26.

I love this version with the ambi slide release and no finger grooves.

Ordered up a Raven concealment eidolon holster for it also. ImageImage
