Buying guns from restrictive states

Postby Ron Burgundy on Wed Mar 13, 2013 8:41 pm

I've been browsing gunbroker and I see that sellers are reluctant or won't sell to certain states (CA, MA, IL, etc) which I assume is due to restrictive gun laws. Are there any issues for a MN resident buying from these same states?

One might be our Saturday night special melting point laws. Ie the Chiappa 22 pistols melt at a temp below 800 degrees so they don't meet our 1000 requirement.

Shouldn't be any problems unless it's due to the above referenced melting point issue. With CA, most sellers won't sell/ship to residents there because of the stoopid "Safe" Handgun Roster and the FFL is required to have a CFLC which they view as being a hassle.

There are models of the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR Revolver and the similar Puma revolver that fall under this same restriction. I suspect my own Heritage Rough Rider is one of these. But I have a lot of fun shooting it, and it's legal in about 45 states.

The only other thing to be weary of is that it is likely the mags being sold with the gun are neutered to comply with the state mag cap limits.
