Yeah, the price of ammo.
Even if it is pitting, it's already there. Keep it clean, and lubricated and don't worry about it.

The 9mm makarov is about the largest caliber that direct blowback can handle.

Not to pick nits, but the Hi Point 45acp is a blowback. Of course the gun weighs more than a full size Texas Stripe watermelon.

Yea some of those Mak's can have some real snap to them since they are a direct blowback action instead of a locked breach like 9mm luger that helps to spread out the recoil force. Some larger .380 pistols like the Walther PPK are also direct blowback. The 9mm makarov is about the largest caliber that direct blowback can handle. Good news is they are durable pistols.

It seems incredibly durable. Its a IJ-70, the Russian made one. Got it with one mag, I've been able to find plenty of ammo when I knew where to look. Only shot 100 rounds through it so far, will get a lot more through it.

Where are you finding ammo? I've only seen one box since November - $40 at a gunshow...

It probably is factory new, from what I've read it should have been made in the 90's sometime possibly.
