I like mine. Replace the sights and it is a great single stack carry gun. Very reliable, very accurate, very thin. Some people don't like the trigger, but I think it is fine.

I have the Shield in 9mm and so far I love it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it as much as I would like, probably about 400 rounds or so through it and no issues at all. I actually really like the trigger....really crisp and smooth. If you are looking for a good single stack carry gun I would recommend it for sure. I would also recommend taking a look at the XDS. I currently carry the XDS as my primary carry gun and I think its a marvel how they were able to fit a .45 ACP in such a small frame and at the same time be extremely shootable. I plan on rotating between the Shield and my XDS as my primary carry guns depending on the mood that I am in.

Personally I like the overall feel of the Shield and the trigger a little better than the XDS, but I love having the power of a .45 at the same time and I tend to be a bit more accurate with the XDS for some reason (I also have alot more practice with the XDS so that probably has something to do with this). I was torn so I bought both :D

If you are looking to test fire alot of guns for cheap I recommend heading down to Ahlmans next weekend. They are having their annual shooters roundup. They have alot of venders there and you can test fire their handguns for free all you have to do is pay for the ammo. (you have to use their ammo) Last year they had S&W, Springfield, Ruger, and a couple others I can't remember.

Here is a link to their webpage http://www.ahlmans.com/SR-Master%20Page.htm

Also see below for a pick of the Shield and XDS next to each other. Shield is 9mm and XDS is 45.

I have a 9mm and like it.
Shoots well, not a bad trigger, easy to conceal.
I like the trigger on the Bersa BP9CC more.
I think we could sell the Shield for $50 more without any problem.
$429 now.

I like my 9mm quite a bit. Stock trigger is fine for me, but I will be replacing the sights as someone noted. Very accurate and zero feed or other issues in about 500 rounds. Arzen's had some 8 rd mags for it last week. Just wish GLOCK would build their single stack 9mm and a nice 22 like S&W has already done.

If only. I have cash ear marked for that glorious day when the single stack Glock comes out.

Just out of curiosity, why did you guys go with the shield instead of the compact? Isn't the shield only slightly smaller?

Smaller and Thinner , which is the 'in-thing'
And the $70 less price tag really helps sell them.

It's thinner, which is easier to carry concealed with a wider range of options.

Personally, I like it but I think I would prefer the XD-S over it.

Had one in .40 and sold it a few months ago. Bought a G27 and didn't look back. Grip too thin, low capacity, not much smaller than G26/27, safety would sometimes engage when pulling from holster.

I was all excited to get one, then I saw it had a thumb safety. Read a lot of people thinking they'd just leave the safety disengaged and still pocket carry the gun in a holster.

Just seems like they should offer it without a thumb safety. I have a g26 gen 4 on backorder, but would rather have the size of the Shield in 9mm, primarily the slimness.

Search youtube for how to remove the manual safety.
