What's the "lower" trigger?

I'll answer my own question. Further research seems to be pointing to the problem possibly lying in the return spring or pin for the safety "lower trigger" that is part of the bigger trigger. Have to wait for more info from s&w. Way too much speculation and rumor floating around net now.

Does anyone have a link to the original message from S&W? I have not seen this from any verifiable S&W source. Nothing on the S&W website either.

It was an email sent to retailers. Here is a search to see 3 pages of the exact quote, but nothing posted on the interwebz from S&W directly: https://www.google.com/search?q=Smith+% ... e&start=20

Might want to ask user RockCreek - I think he might have gotten the email directly based on what he posted in another thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=45841&start=15

Just found this, so it looks legit. Tough trusting anything on the Internet :)

That looks legit, time to inspect mine.

The trigger appears to function normally on mine :)
