Yikes! Ussually these recalls are for issues outside of normal use like dropping the gun or some other abuse. Wonder what part is at fault (me thinks striker sear).

And I almost bought an XDs9 a month ago. Goes to show don't buy a newly released gun right away, let them work the bugs out first.

Informally, I've heard that a firearm had a slam-fire mishap due to debris putting the striker frozen in the forward position. What they will be doing to fix this I couldn't guess, but it was a VERY isolated incident

Well, crap. I guess I'll be pulling the PRP spring kit out of mine and sending it back.

Looks like my best friend is getting one of my guns early so he can deal with this. I don't have the time, desire, or caring to deal with it. Too many other more important issues in my life right now. Thanks for posting this. I'll pass this on to him along with the XDs.

UPDATE: Turns out you can check the serial number on the website and my XDs is NOT in the recall list.

That sucks, my carry weapon and the one I shoot the most. Now as a registered owner with them, why do I find out about it here and not directly from them?

And here I was planning on shooting my XDS9 tonight. Given the serial number range listed do I even want to know how long it will take to get back? This was going to be my carry weapon when my permit comes any day now.

Yeah, but then you would wind up covered in green personal injury lawyer slime...

From what I have heard, it is ALL xds. The serial number check is wrong.
