Merry Xmas to Me

Postby mmcnx2 on Mon Nov 18, 2013 7:45 pm

Wife and I were at Cabelas for the members event last night, they had a brand new Mark 3 hunter with thumbrest grips in the back room. Not even the Ruger factory tape seal had been broke yet. I had a bunch of points, a discount card and got employee pricing. In the end got a screaming deal on it and already have a trigger ordered for it.

Might add a red dot down the road, we'll see. Xmas came ealy this year, luck me.

Negative, the hunter has a 6" barrel I believe. It is also drilled and tapped to accept a 1913 rail which is included with the gun. The pistol in the picture does resemble the hunter model somewhat though, it's shorter though.

This one is the Talo version. I have one and really like it. The only mod I made outside of having the trigger cleaned up was replacing the "V" rear sight with a traditional VQ target sight. I never could get the hang of using that "V" sight.

Yea, it a 6inch fluted barrel with the target grips(vs the slab sides). I ordered the Volq trigger and if I do a reddot I'll also put a break on it at that time.

Crap. Now I have to start saving money for something else. Nice looking gun that would look even better as a partner to my new 1911. Merry Christmas to you and enjoy it.

I found this one ☝️used a Bills gun shop in Robinsdale last year just before Sh-t hit the fan, it came with 4 clips for $500.
It's Mark III Hunter deluxe, put has a shorter barrel than the standard Hunter.

It's gun porn! I'll be looking for one next spring or early summer. Just in time for my birthday.

Figured if I was going to take this thing to the ground to put the new trigger in I might as well put in the mag disconnect bushing and the loaded chamber insert. Heck I might even shoot it once before I pull it apart.

Well got the Volq trigger and mag disconnect in and everything works as expected. Was not as bad as everyone said it would be. I'd field strip one again without any concern. It just has a few very samll springs you have to keep an eye on.

Anyone going to the range this weekend?

Very nice! Show us some targets when you get to the range with it.
