Ruger LCR

Does anyone have any experience with the Ruger LCR? Gander Mountain has one at a good price. Thanks.

I would go to a range and rent one before buying it. With small carrying guns I always say that I can take 50 different shooters and get 50 different opinions on the best gun.
Everyone is built different and the likes and dislikes vary greatly with a small pistol.
As an example my all time favorite carrying gun and the only one the I own is the Kel Tec P9. I would venture to guess that you can get 20 forum members to state how much they hate this gun on just this post.
Again, I would strongly suggest you go to a range and rent one.

I have one and it is a great revolver. It has the smoothest trigger I have felt on a revolver... If it has one weakness it is the factory grips, they are too large for pocket carry and too small to be really comfortable.

Like all light weight revolvers it hurts to shoot with full powered ammo after about 100 rounds.

I just sold mine to my old man. It is the best double action trigger I have ever felt. I thought it worked fine for pocket carry. I don't really prefer pocket carry, so I would usually carry IWB with it. Only complaint is that it is almost too light weight. I couldn't really feel it in the holster and that bugs me. I was always worried it would fall out or something. I had a .38, it will rattle your hand but I was pleased with how accurate I could be.

Take a look at the LCRX as well. Same as the LCR but with a small exposed hammer.
What do you consider a good price?

Owned both models in .38 special, and .357 magnum. Sold the .38 special model, and still have the .357 model. Dad uses it as his daily carry. I do have a good review video on both guns... See link below...

The number of semi-autos I have far outweighs the revolvers. That being said, I have the Ruger LCR .38 Spl and find it to be a nice shooter and my go to gun when I want to carry a revolver. The Crimson Trace grips make a great upgrade for it and the trigger is smooth and easy to manage.

Gander Mtn and good price could be a contradiction. Lol. The LCR is a fine little revolver. I carry a Charter Arms On Duty and love it. It has a larger grip that fits my hand. But I tend to carry IWB instead of pocket.

Thanks for the replies. I may hold off and see what the scoop is on the Glock 42 although I do prefer revolvers.

I've seen the LCR at Frontiersman and Gunstop; neither was charging list price, so I'd call or visit and compare the price if you haven't already.

My local dealer has the 38 special model for $429 and the 357 model for $469... but I'm way up in northern MN.
