S&W 986

Postby Rodentman on Sat Apr 26, 2014 7:18 pm

I had a Ruger Redhawk KRH444 which I never seemed to take to the range, or anywhere else. I have other 44's that get more range time and are more fun!

So I took it to Arnzen and got a very fair trade deal on a new S&W 986 7 shot 9mm. I haven't been this pleased with a new gun for a while. What a great gun! Easy recoil, accurate, and very well balanced. Not sure how to say it, but it just seems "right" to me.

My only gripe is small: S&W manages to expectorate only 2 stinking moonclips, but I ordered more. -

Very nice. I don't have any revolvers that use the moon clips yet, but I've been intrigued by the 625 as of late. I love shooting 45 acp, but I'm tried of crawling around picking up the brass.

I've got a 625 but have to admit the 929 looks very interesting as an addition to the collection.

that looks great, I am thinking about picking up my first revolver myself and looking at a few.

I will have to take a closer look at this one

You should definitely bring that thing to a steel shoot.

Looks like a very nice wheel gun.

Thanks! I like moon clip revolvers! I have 625, 610, 310 NG, 327TRR8. So that covers several calibers. And the 625 will take 45Super. Someday I'll get the dremel out and ream the cylinder on the 610 to take 10mm mag. Well, all seriousness aside, I'll have a pro do the work.

Nice looking gun, of course it's not even on the same level but I have a Taurus 905, 5 shot snub 9mm. I like shooting it, it's a neat idea to have a semi auto cartridge in a revolver.

I have eyed that one once or twice myself. I dig my 625, just want some rubber grips for it, the wood isn't "right" for me. This would make a nice companion.

And to Oakdale's matches. It was awful lonely being the only one in Revolver division, last year. [And that's a hint to you, too, Pat! ;) ]
