Not hating, have much love for most guns, but heads turn quicker for certain ones :P

I picked up this big fellow not too long ago, a Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt with a 5.5" barrel.

Nice. I think the Redhawk may be the most aesthetically pleasing handgun out there.

I love those grips, are they factory or aftermarket?

I'm pretty sure they are made by Ruger, they have the medallion on them.
I picked them up on ebay, when I bought the Redhawk it came with Hugue rubber grips.

I may have to search for a set of those.

I do believe RedHawks are one of the prettiest guns out there.

Guns are not the problem, people are the problem. And short of lobotomizig everyone who has a bad thought they will continue to be for the forseeable future.

Here's a winter project I did a couple of years back:

Image

• The barrel/receiver was purchased after the barrel was cut to 8 ½ inches long from a KMK 10 stainless Mark II upper.
• Barrel contour was machined at S.G.W. LLC.
• All the internals have been smoothed, with a Volquartsen Target sear replacing the factory sear.
• The trigger is an AMT Lightning pistol "steel" trigger ( 2-3/4 lbs. ) replaced the Ruger aluminum trigger.
• The grips are "custom hand made", from rough blanks, and hand checkered here at Sarona Gun Works LLC.
• The grip frame was "rust blued" here also.
• A custom made picatinny optics base was made at S.G.W. LLC also.

That looks nice, would love to see some targets.

Quick question for you, is it legal for a MN resident to drive a gun to a WI smith to drop it off or does it have to be shipped?

That's a unique barrel shape on that Ruger. Was that done for your personal taste in aesthetics or is there some theory of why that would improve functionality?
