Kinda looks like a Ruger knock-off... Then again, what do I know :)

S&W Victory .22LR Semi-Auto Handgun

I would say it looks more like a buckmark, but interchangeable barrels has my attention.

I suspect it will be a replacement for the 22a model which really never took off. This would give them the M&P for the tactical line, the Victory for bulk of the range and the 41 for guys willing to drop a grand for a 22. As much as I hate taking apart my Mark's they are the standard 22 that owns that market niche especially with all the aftermarket parts available.

It will be interesting if they hang with the model long enough for aftermarket to take hold or if they orphan the line.

Just as a reference I am a S&W fan and own a 41, 3 revolvers and NIB 52-2.

It looks like a cross between a Ruger and a Buckmark, but is also kinda goofy lookin' in its own unique way.

Always happy to see a new contender in that space and was initially very excited. I think they missed the boat, however. Not enough to differentiate from existing established players in the marketplace(Ruger/Browning) and nothing really new.

I would have liked to see a 'high capacity magazine'. Having restricted cap mags is a given in order to sell to various states, but for the life of me I can't understand why no-one has a 20 round .22. Kel Tec can fit 30 rounds of .22 mag in a PMR-30 - so it can be done.

It wouldn't have been that hard to make the 'slide' non-reciprocal. Maybe they needed the extra mass and/or bolt travel - but I really would have liked it to be internal. Not a big deal for established shooters, but some new shooters see the slide coming back and it freaks 'em out. Seems like something simple to put in a new design.

The easily removed barrel interests me a lot, especially if somebody steps up and makes an integrally suppressed barrel for it

Here is a "first look/preview" article.

The reviewer loves it. The takedown procedure looks pretty sweet!

Looks great. I may have to put that on my short list. I predict a glut of MKIII's in the used market.

Hmmm..... I'm less uninterested now, especially with a threaded barrel.

Got one in yesterday and sold it today.
Very comfortable gun. I think I'll need to order an extra one
for me.

This looks like a promising new .22 but I just can't get over the fact it you need a screw driver to disassemble the thing for cleaning. I don't think there are too many new designs coming out that require tools. Heck, even most old designs don't require tools for basic field stripping. Glock, Beretta, 1911, AR, AK, FAL, HK-9x, etc don't require tools for basic breakdown. I don't know why companies think .22's should be more complicated than a centerfire pistol or rifle.

If I'm wrong about the tool requirement, my opinions of this new gun will go way up.
