Sheesh!! It's RAINING hicap 45's...

CDNN continues to hold the SAR K2 at $369, so they are flooding the market, and people on gunbroker are quoting the K2 at $369 as the BASE price, plus $20FFL, and then trying to make money off the bids?? Even buds guns has FINALLY relented, and is down to $411 base price. Now we have the PARA P14.45 Expert for an equally ridiculous price of $599?? Considering that the current choice is "The Donald" or the never to be sufficiently reviled Mrs. Slick Willie, it seems like a good time to stock up on "stuff". I think we are screwed no matter what happens...

What are the controls on that SAR?

looks like left side slide release, thumb safety and a mag release.

you are sort of talking me into getting one because they seem very reasonably priced and your right, I can't think of many reasons why a hi cap .45 would be a bad idea. Might be tough to EDC concealed, but that is some definite firepower.

Your assumptions are correct. The side controls are identical to Tanfoglios. As far as EDC, it depends on the person - if you are the 800 pound reloading troll you look like a big lumpy mattress with a bad attitude so it's no big deal, and as my pictures show, the SAR is actually SMALLER in grip and slide size than the Para P14.45. This has to do with the transposition of the rails and groves on the slide and frame, just as John Browning did it when he first created the 1911 and later the Browning Hi-Power in 1935.

I don't know if thsee SAR K2s are still available for $369, but I am tempted to but another one. Edited to update price $349!!!!!!!!!! Holy shyte. Cdnn is the seller. Get one. You won't regret it.

Just got back from the range shooting a few other pistols and this one. The K2 continues to be a favorite. The groups are tight and effortless. It is truly a pleasure to shoot.

My only gripe is the elevation screw on sight won't move. It shoots low by 2 inches at 25ft. I don't want to crank on the screw and wreck it, so I compensate.
I am considering bringing it to a smith. Any tricks I can try?

Very, very tempting, but I think I'll pass because (1) it ships with only one magazine, (2) the gun is imported by EAA which apparently has a less-than-stellar customer service track record, and (3) I don't think the K2P will do anything that my uber-accurate CZ 97B can't already accomplish.

But... if the price drops under $300, I might have to reconsider.

D I sold both 97Bs after getting a K2. Better feel and more ammo. Even better trigger than the CZ'S which is hard for me to say........

How much are extra mags running and are they readily available? Man, at $350, I'm getting really tempted.

Did my own homework. The mags are $25 each and seem to be available. But price when I looked was back to $369 this morning. Still seems like a great piece.

I love mine, and have no complaints. This beast DOES weigh 48 ounces fully loaded with nearly a THIRD of a box of ammo in it, but the secure feeling you get balances out the weight. The difference between $350 and $369 is meaningless. A Para P14-45 is DOUBLE the price and then some, and the K2 grip size is smaller that the Para. The SAR also has the rails on the slide and the grooves on the frame (like the Browning Hi-Power and CZ-97), so it's shorter overall than the 1911. (Pictures on request...)

Thanks for the heads up on this Sam. I am enjoying it and spreading the word.

Once the elevation screw is solved, I could see carrying the 8 months of winter.

Sturdy belt is key.

Ordered one and an extra mag this morning. I'm excited to try this thing out. This was actually my first online order of a firearm.

CDNN is the way to start out. Never had a problem getting stuff from them. The SAR is the bargain of the century. Somebody else here wrote they got rid of TWO CZ97's after they got their SAR, and the trigger was better than their CZ75, which is saying something. The first time you shoot a full load of 15 rounds, you start wondering:

WHEN THE HELL IS THIS 45 GONNA RUN DRY?? It's a real live movie gun.....

Can't wait. Should be fun. Have a stoeger cougar 9mm in the safe so already have one Turkish made DA/SA. I like everything but the sights on that one which I will change eventually.
