Best mouse gun?

Postby jdege on Sun May 28, 2017 9:38 pm

If you were going to buy a .380 mouse gun, something like the Kel-Tec P-3AT, what would you buy, these days?

I've never much cared for Kel-Tec's quality control, and I know there have been a number of entries in this market space, in the last decade or so, but I've not been following it.

Anyone have an opinion?

For a small .380, ruger lcp. For a mouse gun? .177 air rifle.

I'd probably take advantage of one of these deals

I've got over 5000 trouble free rounds through my Glock 42. For a .380, it can't be beat. If you must go smaller, the LCP2 is pretty good. Everything else is junk.

Kahr P380. Thin, small and has a locked breach rather than blow back as many .380's.

After it was returned to Kahr for light primer strikes, it works great.

I really like my Kahr CW380. Only malfunctions were in the first 50 rounds and they say to put 200 through it for break-in. Who knows the malfunctions may have been me getting used to a mouse gun. Either way it's shot great since.

My LCP has always been good. Though I hated it until I installed the Hogue grip. The only time it has malfunctioned was the one time I tried shooting some Buffalo Bore +P++ Super whammy loads. Bought them during the ammo crisis a few years ago and it was the only thing I could fine.

,177 air rifle works out to 1000", and beyond, if you do your part.
But for more tactical cqb, nothing beats a .22 wheel gun with shot shells

Another vote for the Kahr. I have the cheaper CW and it runs good.

This is my mouse gun. It's not hard to shoot even though it's small because it's heavy. Quite accurate with 180 grain hollowpoints.

The weight that tames the recoil makes it kind of heavy in the pocket but OK with jeans. Six shots of .40 from a pocket gun is hard to beat.
I know a Glock holds more rounds and is lighter but I don't like ugly guns.

My Kel-Tec P-3AT has been serving me well since long before the Ruger copies were available.

For size and weight the P3AT. Buy two so you can have a backup if one breaks. Parts have been quickly sent for the one that had a parts failure.
