Scope issue...

Postby Rodentman on Sat Sep 09, 2017 6:32 pm

I just bought a Leupold FX-II for my SRH 480 Ruger. I removed the turret caps and found that both the elevation and windage adjusters have "R" and an arrow. Every other scope I have used has "U" and an arrow for Up on the elevation turret. I ASSUME "R" on the elevation turret means "UP"

Is this just a mfr error? Has anyone noticed the same thing on their scope?

I could call it that... I suspect I am seeing a manufacturing error and assume the scope will adjust properly. If it works as it should I don't care about the turret marking, but it is odd.

I have a burris handgun scope with the same issue. I always double check another scope before I go to the range so i remember what direction to make adjustments. Otherwise works fine.

Just and error. Two windage knobs.

Taking the stinking thing to OGC today and will advise. Unless it flies off and goes into orbit.

Our juniors have a pair of Walther air rifles. Up and Down on the sights are marked H (herauf) and U (unten).
I will never apologize for being an American.

Worked fine at the range. I'll consider the elevation turret "R" to mean "raise." It shot a little high, so I lowered the elevation and it's on target now. Here are the turrets:

Windage:

And the gun:

I used loads with a 355g LFN GC bullet:

10g Titegroup
26g IMR 4227
25g Lil Gun
26.5g H110
6.5g Trail Boss
