Why no good sales on revolvers?

Postby INOR on Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:45 pm

I get a ton of email feeds from PSA, grabagun, cheaperthandirt, cdnn, etc. There are always sales on ARs and other rifles and sales galore on semi auto handguns. There are very rarely sales or deals or even much for advertising on revolvers. Why is that? Just not the market for it?

Why no good sales on revolvers?

Actually I should clarify. I sometimes see ads for .357s. Some model 686s and GP100s. Never see any deals on .44s.

Overstocks on big sellers vs low quantity mfg. for lower sales quantities. Like H said smaller market.

Could be with all the possible restrictions coming, why get rid of your guns you will still be able to sale if all the restrictions are passed.

I think that the typical revolver is actually more expensive to produce than most striker fired polymers. With R&D behind them, I'd think Glock can crank out a G19 for less than $100.

True, it seems many revolvers are more exotic materials in comparison.

Revolvers are nearly always in demand. Look at a demand curve for AR’s, and it’s a bell with a lot of spikes....revolvers are nearly always a straight line.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

And I would bet on average lower demand than ARs or semi-auto handguns

I sort of view semi-autos as 'utility' and revolvers as a bit further up the scale. The materials and assembly are more expensive than polymer semi-autos. As mentioned, sales volume also matters.

They sure are cool though!

There are quite a few utility revolvers out there and some that are cheaper than a Hi-point so, just saying

I thought we didn’t like their new owner. Isn’t that the camping world guy?
