I don't know of other platforms that suffer similar issues as much as 1911s do.
I have run several thousands of 200 gr SWC with zero issues through several of my 1911's, no problems at all. Westhope can testify to that, bet he has seen me shoot 1000 or so over the years in Faribault.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the feed issues were with the original spec'd feed ramps.
Could be mil spec issue, not sure. But shooting 1911's in Colt, Springfield Armory, Kimber, Les Baer, Ed Brown, Rock River, and STI that I can remember, no problems for me. My current carry, same for about 20 years is a Kimber PRO CDP, pre series II and I don't know really how many rounds of Speer Gold Dot I have run through that. I know over a case of Gold Dot, because I had to order smaller lots as of late.
