Coonan Arms .357 magnum

Postby MrVvrroomm on Thu Feb 26, 2009 4:11 pm

I have a buddy/co-worker that has one of these for trade. He doesn't want to sell, but rather trade. He bought it many years ago from a co-worker of both of ours for $450.

I did a quick google and I see Cabela's in Rogers has one for sale for $1800. This gun will be mine!

Here's an image I found online, not actual gun.

These are nifty. And they are coming back. Somebody local just acquired the rights and will be producing them again. (See? This is why you go to the MWCA gun shows).

Here is the same model listed for $1,095 dollars in excellent condition.

Just thought I would point that out before you trade off $1,800 worth of stuff unnecessarily! ;)

A few years ago there was a guy who shot a Coonan in the Thursday night league at Bill's Robbinsdale. He liked to load his ammo hot; it was like lightning striking in the next bay!

(hushing) I won't be trading off $1800 worth of stuff. We're talking more like $450 worth of trade!

Really? you sure it's safe? Tell you what, go ahead and get it, give it to me with 1,000 rounds and I will safety test it for you. Could take a few years, but you will get a full report.

(anyone groaning at this post is just pissed I beat them to it.)

You have to load the Coonan INCREDIBLY HOT and it is about as close to a ZERO recoil gun as you will find - interesting gun....

We can fix coonans - hell we might even have some spare parts. I have shot them a lot and they are a VERY accurate gun - reliability is a bit iffy - but fun anyhow.

Cool. That should be considered when the media post those rankings of "best places to live". :)

When the new Coonans come out - the parts will NOT be compatible with the older units and getting Coonan parts/Service has always been a problem. Coonan, while and interesting fellow is not the speediest person in the world when it comes to fixing things.

It is now MINE! I just got home from the dear friend's house. Part of the trade included a 2lb. bag of Chicago Mix popcorn from Candyland and a couple of Reese's peanut butter cups.
