Ruger LCP - "I like it!"

Postby tweener on Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:15 pm

A buddy bought an LCP a few months back.....I shot maybe 20 rds thru it at the range when he first got it, and I liked it, so I ordered one. I got it a few weeks ago, and was able to shoot it for the first time recently....and all I can say is WOW...VERY VERY impressed.

My range time went like this...

Set target at 21 ft, and standing 2 handed, shot off 6 casually aimed shots, to see how it performed with low level of brain input, and just shooting fairly quicly, without thinking much..... 6 shots went off with out a hicup, and they all hit the 18" x 18" target, albeit, a little low, and a little right....group size was maybe 10 inches and center of group was 5 inches low, and 2 inches right.

Loaded up 6 more rounds, and took careful aim, at the bullseye......I carefully fired all six rounds, and a quarter would cover all the holes, and the group was about 1/2" low.... HOLY TOLEDO BATMAN!! That lil' gun can shoot!

This thing dang near shoots as good as my Mitchell Sharp shooter II .22 !

I am very impressed with this pistol.......3 boxes of ammo later, no malfunctions....

Very nice little gun.

I was at Bills south yesterday and they had 380 in stock. 20 per 50 with a limit of 2 per customer.

I just got one of these little pocket guns and am quite surprised by it. Small, manageable, and reasonable accurate. I have a couple of boxes of ammo through it, and no issues whatsoever. If you end up getting one of these, Vlad makes a really nice pocket holster for them at a really reasonable price! Just a heads up.

I might be wrong, but I think he got one.

But yes, talk to Vlad for a holster.

.380 is around....you just gotta know where to look.....I have buying a box here, and a box there ever since I ordered my gun.....I now have maybe 300 rounds left.......You will pay a SERIOUS premium for a good self defense load... I paid $100 for 50 Hornady Critical Defense.....I bought a few boxes of Dynamit Nobel JHP for about a buck a round...

Check Gunbroker....Bills has had a steady supply of magtech 380 for about 10 weeks now.......$20 for the FMJ and $25 for the JHP. I am no expert, but that Magtech JHP looks about worthless...I can't see that thing expanding much, with such a small hole.

Yes I left the brass on the floor.....I don't reload, so unless it is worth at least $5 for 50 empties, it ain't worth it for me to pick it up...
Never mind the typos. My keyboard is full of beer, crumbs and Dr. Peper........and .........the typo and grammer police can go to........HE..!.....no...wait a minute......California!
