Best Day Ever!

Postby JoeH on Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:57 pm

Two of my babies have been gone from the nest... one to Smith and Wesson and one to Springfield. It has been tough but I knew that they'd be home soon although not sure when, days, weeks?

I just get home from work and see a box from FedEx on the couch. I deciphered the shipping label and knew that it was from Springfield.

I had sent my 1911 Loaded 9mm into them for warranty and Custom Shop work. All I can say is wow on two fronts. First my ejector was coming loose from the frame. They drilled and pinned it for me. They also reamed the chamber and polished the ramp. All no charge and they paid shipping both ways.

Then I had the Custom Shop bevel and polish a S&A mag well and do a action job (trigger job). Both are outstanding!

Full disclosure - the ejector wasn't really their fault. My Wilson ETM mags were hitting the ejector. The factory mags did not.

So, as I'm all excited, busy dry firing my Springer, the doorbell rings. The same FedEx guy from the morning is back, signature required :D .

It's my 625JM. I was having trouble with Throw By. They replaced the stop spring, rebound spring, and cylinder stop. It now functions perfectly. Oh, and Smith paid shipping both ways too.

So, Best Day Ever? Maybe, maybe not. It is awfully hard to beat.

What was the fix for the 625?
I suspect a cylinder and a pawl!
