I agree a 1911 is not for everyone, they are for folks that can actually handle a gun and have enough brains to operate a safety.

I you lack the brains and ability to flip a safety up with your thumb then you shoot Glocks adn not 1911's. Given half the people in the world have below average intellegence then I guess that explains the popularity of Glocks.

OK joke over, but let's please not start the glock/1911 debate, I don't the next year of my life to invest in watching all the idiots with 6 posts or guys being 'justanidiot' making inaccurate and misleading posts.

We all have a duty and moral obligation to own multiple types of firearms, including ones in the classic 1911 platform as well as the more modern polymer designs. You see, it really is important to celebrate diversity.

That seems to indicate some problems with training and you shouldn't be pulling the trigger when the gun is aimed at yourself.

I do celebrate diversity with 23 1911's.......
comprising of Colt, Kimber, S & W, Norinco, Remington Rand, Springfield, STI, Llama, Rock Island, Brazos, and Les Baer....
all diversely spread across Full size, Commander, and Officer sizes...............
with all of that diversity, what the heck do I need Tupperware for..................

So you are saying that:
a) it takes more training with safety free weapons AND
b) that indeed half the people in the world have below average intelligence which explains the popularity of Glocks.....
either way, I rest my case........ :rotf:

I don't know if it's so much training as following the basic rule of, "Don't place your finger inside the trigger guard unless you're ready to make a conscious decision to shoot." Of course if people have a problem following one of the four rules of firearm safety I understand why they need an additional manual safety to prevent themselves from self-maiming.

I really can't argue that particular point. :(

uys I made the half the people comment and just to restate the obvious. An average is the sumation divided by population, Thus statistically one person less than half has to be under the average. It just the math not a political statement.

Now a political comment would be that the mean intelligence is lowering and that one is the scary one.

And I agree with Hammer on the method of diversity and the ND.

This thread has drifted a little bit, it was about how much of an improvement the 4 gen is ove rthe 3rd. I stand by my initial observation, nice but not a big deal.

Don't you dare try to bring math and facts into this. Math and facts have no place in a thread discussion a model of gun!

But something possibly interesting, The Firearm Blog has found apparent Glock Generation 4 prices.

Even an ashole like me wouldn't sell a 1911 to someone.

If you are going to insult people by talking about their inability's, below average intelligence, or being idiots you should spell three letter words correctly, with complete sentences. You look like you have inability's, below average intelligence, and are being an idiot. Or in short it makes you look bad. Its all about the post count and guys with six of them shouldn't be posting about a serious subject like this one.

Wow. For starters, the word "inabilities" doesn't have a y or an apostrophe. Number 2, I'm not sure that you have the right to bring up post count, seeing as you have let Tootsie and the Cufflinked Commander pass you up.

Man, you are just hemorrhaging clout right now.

Sheesh. Go sit in the corner and play with your Glock.

Yup. Now I wonder why that could be......... :hmm:
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.
