SOLD - *NEW* USGI ACU IMPROVED MODULAR SLEEPING SYSTEM

Postby scout on Mon Apr 19, 2010 11:02 am

I do have this listed on eBay (Link) for $250 +s/h, but would prefer to sell locally to mnguntalk members for $200/cash (unless an eBay member purchases it first via 'Buy it Now'). Price is based off of auction that just ended yesterday for over $300 (Link)

The Tennier Industries Inc. commands a higher price than the others from what it seems, it is the latest, current issue version of this bag. The "Improved" MSS (Modular Sleeping System) is both lighter weight and more durable than the (foliage camouflage) MSS you normally see on eBay and also features a larger foot box area.

I am 6'4' 200lbs and I felt very comfortable in this bag (although I never actually used/slept in it). I bought it and now decided to go a different route.

The patrol bag is good down to +30F
The intermediate bag is good down to -10F
put them both together and use the Gore-Tex bivy and its good down to -40F
It's like 3 sleeping bags in one, use them independently or all together

MFG BY TENNIER INDUSTRIES INC

The Improved 5-Part ACU Sleep System is constructed to insulate the user in environments ranging from mild weather to extremely cold weather. The Improved Sleep System is both lighter weight and more durable than it's predecessor, it also features a larger foot box. The system consists of two Mummy-style sleeping bags--the Patrol (Foliage) and the Intermediate Cold Weather (Urban Grey). Each are constructed of water-resistant, ripstop nylon. Each sleeping bag is fully functional independently. For a temperature to -30°, insert the Intermediate Cold Weather bag inside the Patrol bag. Each bag is compatible with the vapor permeable Gore-Tex bivy cover. When all 3 components are used together the system is rated at -40°F. Non-flammable and machine washable. Auction includes; ACU Bivy, Patrol Bag, Intermediate Bag and (2) Foliage Green stuff sacks.

Dang that was fast... I woulda snatched that up.

I bought an X-tra long Patrol bag (with plans to buy the rest of the system) a couple of months ago thinking that I would need an extra long being 6'5" but the bag must be made for Goliath. I can get in, and almost fully extend my arms up. I actually like it because I can store clothes at the bottom of the bag to avoid getting wet.

I'm looking forward to finding the rest of the system.... Having trouble finding the x-long intermediate bag.
