I ordered this a month ago and it came in today. It's Lone Wolf's attempt at improving the Glock frame.
My initial build is on a Glock 37, .45 GAP slide. I decided to start here since I've got a bunch of ammo made up.
Assembly went off without a hitch. I picked it up in Burnsville at 3pm today, rode home, installed frame internals, slapped the slide on, and was back at BPR by a few minutes after 4pm. I popped off 100 rounds before I had to leave for work.
My initial thoughts: I now have a half a Glock that's about as reliable as a Kimber. I am less than pleased at how the magazines fit. Some drop free, some don't. The replaceable palm swells (back straps) slide out too easily. They need a more secure fit.
I like the texture just fine, but not as much as I like Glocks rtf2 finish. I haven't decided which back strap I like better. It's hard to tell in just 100 shots.
This is a prototype frame. In fact, the serial number is Proto295. I understand that I'm a beta tester, but one would think Lone Wolf could have anticipated these issues. These issues seem to be recurring as the frames start trickling out to the public.
Anyway, more testing to be done next week. I'll be running 17, 34, 22, and 31 slides as time permits.
