Just recently, I purchased a NIB Savage Mark II TRR from GunBroker. MSRP on Savage's site = $539. Average street price after doing all my shopping & research = $459 - $489. Price I paid on GunBroker = $306.02 on a No Reserve Auction.

Sometimes you can find a firearm listed with typos or the model specs all ran together with no spaces; they don't come up in a search when everyone out there is entering queries with correct spelling and spacing. If you search hard enough, you can find some really good deals. Seller's mistake = buyer's luck. This one was listed as "MarkIITRR". No spaces. Hardly anyone else found it.

$35 shipping + $20 transfer & for $366.02, I own exactly what I wanted and saved quite a bit. (Granted, it's not in my sweaty hands, yet, but I'm picking it up tomorrow! :yippee: )

I recently bought a Springfield Armory XD 9 subcompact online from Bud's Gun Shop in KY. I got a really good price. After I contacted an FFL gun shop in my town to give them a heads-up, I placed the order with Bud's. I had Bud's ship the XD to the FFL gun shop. Bud's gives you a tracking number, so you can see when the gun arrives. The FFL gun shop had it ready to go for me when I stopped by. They charged me a $20 transfer fee and I was on my way in about ten minutes. I have my permit to carry in MN, so I didn't have to apply for a permit to purchase or go through any waiting periods. Everything went well and I am thoroughly satisfied. I will do it again.

buy from buds or summit gun broker with confidence. awesesome no BS places with great prices. i use Thunderjohn here on the board for trnasfers. $20 and a right honest fellow. stick to places with good reputations and you'll be jsut fine. it's not as scarry as it seems :D
i do what i can, where i'm needed, and i ask so little in return. i'm a true humanitarian fueled by rainbows and whiskey. you should be so lucky to know me...

I ordered a gun from gungenie.com and it arrived quickly. Inner Chamber Guns in Maple Grove was fast and easy to work with. I'll be transferring more through them in the future.

Gunbroker bans you when you're bidding from foreign IP ranges? That's weird because they allow firearms to be bought and exported via international FFL dealers.

Once nice thing I think everyone has forgot to mention about buying a firearm online. NO SALES TAX! :D

Yep, that can often exceed the shipping and transfer fees.

One postscript about buying from Mark at Summit, there are times when he is a few days in responding to emails. He always responds, and he is very very conservative in his judging of guns. If he says its in good shape, it will take a long hard look to tell its not NIB. If he says its "worn but solid" or the like, its going to be a very good condition. I bought a 36 S&W a could of years ago from him and he was almost apologetic about the condition, but when I got it, it was a strong "good" condition, some blue wear on the barrel and edge of the cylinder, but the gun was tight, and clean. For a carry gun, buying one with the first scratch already on the gun takes some of the apprehension out of carrying it...

You do know you are supposed to pay sales tax to MN at the end of the year for anything you purchased for your own use and did not pay tax for when purchased  :gun: SALES TAX DEPT

It's called a buyer tax when you pay it that way I believe. It might be kinda hard to enforce if you didn't pay it though.

I was totally pissed off. The guy who was selling it told me that his address had changed even though he hadn't physically moved from a Rural Route # to a street address, and the gunbroker software locked him out for 4 days and shut him out of multiple auctions he was bidding on. To get around that you can install software from logmein.com on your home computer. Then you can login to your home computer from anywhere you have internet access. The basic version is free.

I have bought guns from Buds, and individuals on Gun Broker. I have only had one bad experience with a new seller on Gun Broker. He got cold feet and was afraid to transfer the gun or at least that is what he told me. Luckily he called before I put the money in the mail. If you are bidding on items online, I would be cautious with unrated sellers, other wise bid away there are some great deals online.
