user842 was quite close. I am buying an XDM 40 3.8", just not a compact.

:cogitating:

I thought the 3.8 was the compact...

The 3.8 is the compact, they just don't call it that.

They have a 3.8 and a 3.8 compact. The 3.8 has a full size grip and larger mag capacity. Essentially the same gun, different grip/mag.

From a holster perspective, there is no difference with 3.8 and 3.8 compact.

I think that Springfield is silly making two different grip sizes. Note: You can get a regular XD 4" called a compact (short grip) and compact XD 3". Not the best naming conventions... that is why I ask what size barrel it is.

Talking of holsters, would one know were I could find a good holster for my Taurus .357 mag 2 inch barrel ( I think), model number: 2-660021 production year: 1994?

She is very sweet, lovely blue with target sights, really really accurate, and recoil is very light using .38 special :D

That's not a good model number. Taurus revolver model numbers are generally two or three numbers, my J frame size .357 is a 650. But to answer your question, Srigs. I have two of his holsters for my revolver.
