Welcome to the club. Nice piece. :high5: I had same but upgraded to loaded combat.
I loved that gun once it was broke in. Think I shot better with that than my Springfield loaded.

Well I shot it for the first time this afternoon! What a awesome gun! So glad I got it! Makes me wanna get another 1911. Hopefully my dad's hand is strong enough so he can shoot it. He got into an accident back in April where he cut his arm with a chop saw, and had to have surgery to fix it. But he's doing alot better know.

Springfield's 1911 frames and slides are manufactured by Imbel in Brazil. If the gun was made in Brazil, it would have a "N" prefix and say IMBEL BRAZIL on the frame. This gun has a "NM" prefix. The frame and slide still come from Brazil but the gun was made in the US. Most MilSpecs that I've seen and owned are Imbel. I think that the NM guns that say USA on the side are better for no other reason than the roll mark (just MHO). Some argue that the NM guns are better. Most say that the Imbel facility is state of the art and the guns are excellent.

My champion has a "WW" prefix Geneso Il. USA. Is that good?

John-

The WW prefix was used on their WWII-style Mil-spec models. That's all I know on this one. You should contact Springfield for more info.

Just registered with 1911 forum. I also showed the new hardware to my dad. Now he wants a 1911 too.

I showed my friend the gun last night. She was very impressed by the fit and finish of the gun. Can't wait for her to get her custom 1911 done. Its been over 2 years in the making.

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the disease.

I believe several of us have already formed a therapy group. PM for twelve step program. Step one is buying another 1911 pistol, then we move on to step two.

Ouch! Step two really hurts!

Do you use the same lube on both?
