EAA Witness reviews?

Postby Phil 44 on Fri Sep 30, 2011 7:44 pm

Owner of a N. suburbs gunshop was recomending the Witness (9mm w/ .22 conversion kit)

Anybody own one, and/ or care to share your thoughts? :)

Carry one every day in 40. Great guns. Be wary of the stock on hand. Many of the 9mm available in the market still come with old out dtaed magazines. Look for magazines with a black follower. Red follower mags in 9 are finicky for most.

Good guns at a good price. I have a Witness 9 polymer that is a very nice shooter and has never jammed that I can remember. I don't really use it much anymore but its definitely good for "when the **** gets real." Seriously though, quality guns. CZ-75 holsters should work for it. Buy spare mags when you can. It's not that they are hard to find exactly but you don't run into them all that often either.

Good luck!

I have a 9mm Match that has been a nice shooter. I only have a couple hundred rounds, but it's accurate and no malfunctions. I was really surprised at how smooth it is and has a nice trigger. New or used, it is a good bang for the buck. Downside is that accessories and magazines are hard to find and trying to figure out which mags fit can be a pain. Comes in a nice lockable box and a nice cleaning rod.

I'd highly reccomend them. Can't remember if I have 4 or 5 of them now. Cheapest 10mm semi out there, and built strong as hell. DA/SA trigger, very "thumable" controls, and doublestack mags. Also EXCELLENT ergonomics - fits in your hand and points very well. Also can buy slide conversion kits, comp'ed barrels, etc.

I have a Witness Elite Match in 10mm, and it's definitely my "**** gets real" pistol. :D

It's the third Witness I've owned, they've all been great.

I've got the EAA Stock 10mm, and it ran perfect straight out of the box. My original EAA was a Witness 10mm, and it required some work on the feed ramp, stronger recoil and hammer springs, and polishing the inside of the mag body and Wolff +10% mag springs. Still, for $349 NIB, it was a hell of a deal.

Oh, and I have a 45 EAA Witness that I worked all the way up to 45 Super, and out of a 4.4" barrel it will throw a 185 grain Hornady XTP at 1260 FPS. Same mods as above in addition to Magnaporting and a Sprinco 10mm recoil buffer...

Tim Warner was impressed - he said "Holy Something or other"
