300yds range

Postby samginko on Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:03 pm

I was hoping to join the Dakota county gun club. But, they are not accepting applications. Are there any ranges within driving distance of Eagan? 300yds up to 500yds ranges. I think reasonable driving distance as less than two hours. Yah, I tried the dnr website.

Faribault ... but the way the wind whips through there ... might not be worth it? Image

Elk River Sportsmans Club has a range that reaches out that far.

And you can come as a guest if you feel like freezing your butt off (or wait for spring). Drop a PM if interested.

Forest Lake goes up to 400 yards, I'm pretty sure they have memberships available too. I could give you a look if you want.

Thanks for the info. I like the look of the forest lake sportsmen's club.

But, how do I convince the wife $701 is a worthwhile expenditure for a hobby?

Morris Rifle Club.....$20 per year, membership grants you full access to the range. Some of the long time members about had a heart attack when we raised it from $10 to $20, a few years back

400 yards with covered concrete benches. I guess living in the sticks has at least one advantage :D

Waseca Sportsman's Club. $31.00 a year!

50 -500 yds. ;)

No 50 cal BMG or cartridges that deliver more energy, someone started a grass fire with a 50 cal a few years ago............

Caribou in Le Sueur has a 375 yard range. The website claims it goes out to 500yards now but I haven't seen it with my own eyes.
$100 per year + $5 per gun per day
or
$20 for the day and 1 gun + $5 for each extra gun

Most of the times I've been there the range is empty.

Minnetonka Game and Fish has a 300 meter range with a bench for 300 yards in front of the shoot house. The house has heat and has electronic targets. I know there is a waiting list, but I think it is fairly short now. You may be able to get in in the spring. Here is the website http://www.mgfc.org.
