Looking for a FFL

Postby liseriom on Sun Jun 03, 2012 4:33 pm

I live in Coon Rapids, Mn. Can someone suggest a FFL that you have used to receive an AR?

Thanks,

I'm a member at Bill's Gun Shop and have used them for FFL transfer in the past. Not an AR, but they won't have a problem with that. You can check their website out for fees (I think it's $50 for non-members or $25 for members). I used Koscielski's in Minneapolis when I purchased my AR...that is a bit of a hike from where you are though (they are on Lake & Chicago, but carrying my AR out of their was pretty awesome!).

You could also go to GunBroker.com and use their "Find an FFL" function to locate one closer to you or search the forums here.

What are you getting?

Good luck!

GunGooler / LarryFlew, thanks for the info. I will check out the site and Bills.
I found the DSA site while reading a post here. I can get into a complete upper and lower for under $600. I think that this is a good start for my first AR (DSA ZM4 A3 upper, and DSA ZM4 lower).
Does anyone know anything about DS Arms, Inc.?

Thanks,

Firing Line Sports in Ham Lake - $10 FFL transfers:

Firing Line Sports (Gerry Helm)
6008 Heather Dr Ne
Ham Lake, MN 55304
(763) 434-2558

Heard about him here and after reading many happy testimonials had a rifle transferred without issue - best price in town and he provides great service (out of his home, it's not a retail business).

You should in no way be paying $50 for transfer. I would argue tbat even $25 is a bit high.

I purchased one of their 20" uppers (it did NOT include the bolt carrier or charging handle, double check these are factored in to your price) a while back and it worked fine, they are better known for their FAL components but have a good reputation in that space which seems to carry over into decent AR parts. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not looking at Palmetto State Armory (PSA) as well, when you factor in the bolt carrier/charging handle and recent free shipping options I'd give them the edge in value.

Atomic Tactical. He is in Bloomington, but is a great guy. He posts her under the name TROMIX-SAIGA-12.

I have gone through Jerry Helm firing line sports a number of times. Great guy. And very inexpensive. And not far from coon rapids.
Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.

Hi all, I have not been back in a while. I see a lot of good replies to my question. I thank each and everyone of you. I have not placed my order yet, but I plan to do so in the next week or two. before I place my order I will contact one of the FFLs near me.
Again everyone, thanks for the good info.
