Red dot scope repair?

Hi all.
I bought a AMP Tactical Special Forces Red/Green Dot Scope RTR-30 (Made in China.) from someone we all know here and I managed to f***it up.

I would like to know if there is anywhere around here that I can take the scope to get it fixed?

What happened is this. The batteries came with heat shrink wrap around them so when it came time to replace them I used a small piece of electrical tape to secure them. Little did I know that that tape would effectively lock the batteries in the compartment Sooo. I used a drill to TRY to drill a small hole into the first battery, to insert a screw, to pull them out. Well the drill spun the pair and freed them up, so they could be pulled out. Well that spinning action rotated the contact on the other end and twisted off the wire to it.

So basically I'm F*****. Left with an 80.00 POS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's an $80 red dot. If the importing company won't cover the repair or help you out, you might as well cut your losses and just buy a new optic. It makes sense to fix a more expensive optic, but an $80 optic that you know is broken- just use for trap shooting and see what happens. Just paint it orange the sling it.

This is why I NEVER buy any optic or firearm part made in China. Even from a company that sends out replacements no questions asked like Vortex, do you really want to deal with an unreliable product that may fail when you need it most?

how often are people really drilling out batteries? I am guessing a USA made one would have done the same thing.

if you can find someone good with electronics they could solder a new one in....but with an $80 red dot I would look into just getting a new one...the cost of the repair would likely be close to the same.

Well, the issue is why would the OP need to be wrapping the batteries in anything in the first place? Nothing against the OP, but it's not the best of ideas. The need to do so indicates poor quality in the batteries, or poor quality in the optic. Just my $0.02.

To be fair, it was an $80 POS before the battery contact broke, which is why that battery contact broke. As mentioned, you can try to contact the Airsoft place where you bought it, but they won't fix it. My guess you're SOL but it doesn't hurt to try.

What about Russian stuff - specifically Barska? Relatively inexpensive...

Where are you located? It sounds like it would be worth monkeying with to see what we could get working. If you're close, I'll take a stab at it. If I get it working, give me a box of ammo, a 1911, AR, or Uzi magazine of some sort, whatever you think is fair. If I totally eff it up, well, we call it even and you can either have the remains back or I toss it in the trash.

I look at situations like this as you really don't have anything to lose, so why not go for it.

One word: AIMPOINT!

I am not aware of anyplace that could fix that. Maybe just someone handy with electronics, and sodering.
