In Rochester, the big name is Coyote Creek Outdoors (formerly Dale's Gun Shop).

For rifles and ammo, there's always Walmart, Dick's and Fleet Farm. I've heard of a few other stores in town, but am not familiar with them.

Depending on where you're at, Hart Brothers in Albert Lea is also a good choice.

Do you shoot IPSC or IDPA?

There is a club in Pine Island that shoots IPSIC. Wednesday nights.

We shoot IPSIC and IDPA at the Faribault Rifle & Pistol Club. Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

In the Northfield / Rochester area these may not be too far for you.

There is always Cabela's in Owatonna for a gun shop. Dick's and Gander are also in Rochester.

Welcome to MN and you are definitely in shooting country.
Ralph Hettig has a sporting goods shop called Wild Goose on North Broadway in Rochester and handles a few guns. It is across the street from McDonalds. He is a good guy and could probably give you some honest advice. I have known him for many years as a fellow collector. Good luck.

Welcome. I just got back from Philly, where my daughter graduated from Temple Med School yesterday.

For soem reason i want to say there is a gunshop with a gunsmith some where around Northfield in between there and cannon falls. I remember my x's farther was into shooting at camp perry every year and he had a custom rifle built by them, and i remember going there to get some Ammo with a friend who had a russian 9mm.
