Are you talking about the bare bit of metal in the slide release hole? Nothing to it, the thin plastic flash over the metal has finally worn away. The gun is still structurally sound, the metal inside it just fine. The way HK molds their guns is there is internal metal piece that reinforce the frame, in some areas the plastic is a bit thin but those are non critical areas. In some cases there is a thin layer of plastic that fills in over the metal, if it wears away it's no big deal. Keep shooting it, it'll be fine for a long time to come.

For sure...after my G23 ate about 1,000 reloads that were close to max pressure....the front front of the frame worn down to the metal in a couple spots. I stressed at first but them realized the metal was there for a reason....
