HighSpeed Photography Kind of Kicks Ass. Muzzle flash photos

Postby Stradawhovious on Sun Aug 05, 2012 1:41 pm

So I bought me a sound trigger for my photography gear. The hurdle then became trying to find a place to shoot in the dark. Well this morning I Grabbed Pat Cannon, and headed off to Scratch's house, since he was gracious enough to provide a place for me to shoot in the dark.

We took several handguns, and tried to capteure them mid shot. Thanks again to Scratch for letting me use the place, and Pat Cannon for being the trigger man.

Here are a couple of the best from todays festivities.......

Ruger SP101.......

Smith and Wesson 625

And my personal favorite from today..... The Colt Police Positive Special in .32-20 WCF

These are awesome! Pat, you could be a part-time hand model.

Can you give some specs on equipment and setup? I'd love to hear some of that. These look great, Strad.

We shot a few rounds out of Strad's Kimber but Strad did not deem the muzzle flash awesome enough to publish.

Thanks! yes, no 1911s. Pat Cannon nailed it. We tried, they were less than spectacular. Next time I will load up some hot rounds and give it another go.

Yep. Better than expected! Thanks again for having us out to your beautiful house, and letting me use you pole barn and bullet trap!

Thanks! My best guess on the squiggly lines is either a grain of slow burning powder, or primer material.

Here you go B, just for you.

Like I said, less than spectacular. I need to grab some really hot loads next time.

That, and I embarassingly missed the focus on this one. it's a bit fuzzy, and that drives me absolutely bat ****.

Oh, and here is one I found in the folder of my Kahr CW45... not sure how I missed it.... it's a pretty cool shot!
